Holiday in Lanzarote – Your all Year Round Holiday Destination
Lanzarote is the most easterly of the Canary Islands, which are situated just off of the coast of North Africa. It is this location which makes Lanzarote such a superb all year round holiday destination. Lanzarote enjoys warm winters, on average around 20ºC and summers that are hot but not overbearing. Its position ensures the perfect climate for sunbathing and sport during the day and comfortable balmy evenings in which to relax over a leisurely meal or drink.

Holiday on Lanzarote's Golden Beaches in Year Round Sunshine
Miles of beautiful, golden beaches, year-round sunshine and a warm climate make Lanzarote a completely unique destination for family holidays. Lanzarote enjoys more hours of sunshine and lower rainfall than the other Canary Island and has one of the most equable climates in the northern hemisphere. The island is renowned for its excellent water sports, secluded coves and fantastic beaches.

Lanzarote’s Unique Lunar Landscape
Lanzarote is famous for its dramatic landscape and awe inspiring beauty. Views of volcanic mountains and rocky coastlines are broken up by many beautiful golden sandy beaches giving this unusual island a very special scenic charm and creating an exotic island atmosphere in which to unwind. This makes Lanzarote such an unrivalled holiday destination.
Visiting Lanzarote will be the closest you are likely to feel to the Man on the Moon. It is impossible to forget that this is a volcanic island. Lanzarote has a spectacular lunar landscape of lava fields and volcanic craters. It also has some excellent beaches - both golden and black - and year-round sunshine. Don’t miss a visit to the Montanas del Fuego (fire mountains) in Timanfaya National Park.

Lanzarote - Great for Windsurfing & Water Sports
Lanzarote is the place to come if you enjoy action, adventure and sports. The island has excellent facilities for extreme sports fans, including surfing, windsurfing, hang-gliding and mountain biking. If you enjoy the water, Lanzarote offers some of the best scuba-diving in the world, with dive schools that cater for the beginner through to the advanced diver. Water skiing, jet skiing and para sailing, deep-sea fishing, dolphin and whale spotting are also available from the all the main Lanzarote holiday resorts. Two sophisticated world class marinas attract the international yachting fraternity and offer superb sea excursions, game fishing and boat charters.

Lanzarote - Superb Holiday Resorts with High Quality Accommodation
There are three main holiday resort areas on the island of Lanzarote, all are relaxed and family orientated. By far the liveliest and brashest is Puerto del Carmen, while Costa Teguise is a bit more refined, Playa Blanca is the quietest.
All the holiday resorts offer an excellent selection of accommodation for holiday rental, from quaint apartments to luxury villas with private swimming pools.

Largely thanks to the famous artist and architect Cesar Manrique, Lanzarote doesn’t allow high-rise buildings and tourist development has been strictly controlled. This means that the holiday resorts of this small island have been tastefully developed and modelled on the neat, white low-level houses of the local villages, thus retaining the essential charm and character of this exotic and unusual island.

Things to see and do in Lanzarote
Lanzarote is a great holiday destination, offering more to visitors than just the beautiful sandy beaches and dramatic scenery:
Aqua Park – water activity park in Costa Teguise which is always a great family day out.
Timanfaya National Park - Don’t miss a visit to the Montanas del Fuego (fire mountains) in Timanfaya National Park, a volcanic field filled with a variety of geological and geothermic phenomena. After taking a camel trek through the volcanic landscape, visitors can enjoy a meal cooked on the geothermal heat which emanates from the steam vents and geysers exuding from the lava. The park also features 180 different plant species on its stark landscape.
Los Jameos de Agua - (The Water Hollows) An unusual, underground entertainment complex built into a sheet of volcanic rock: local artist César Manrique decided to celebrate the beauty of his island home by building restaurants, cafes and shops underneath a tropical island beach.
Guinate Tropical Park - This Tropical park is situated in the North of Lanzarote and consists of waterfalls, lakes and beautiful gardens which are home to over 1,300 exotic birds and animals.
La Cueva de los Verdes  - In the northern part of Lanzarote, close to the Monte de la Corona volcano, is a spectacular system of underground grottos known as La Cueva de los Verdes. This is one of the largest volcanic galleries in the world, at just over four miles (six km) long, formed approximately five thousand years ago in a prehistoric eruption. More than a mile of these grottos are accessible to visitors, and lighting effects have been added to accentuate the contours and colours of the weird shapes resulting from the lava flows.
The Cactus Garden - Situated between Guatiza and Mala is an unusual sightseeing attraction that combines art with nature. Artist Cesar Manrique created a work of art in the form of a cactus plantation in an old quarry.
The Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporaneo - situated in Arrecife this museum is home to the most important collection of modern art in the Canaries and includes works by Miro, Millares, Oscar Dominguez and Lanzarote's most famous son, Cesar Manrique.
Taro de Tahiche – The house of Cesar Manrique, who campaigned to keep traditional building methods and banned advertising billboards on roadsides in Lanzarote. He was also responsible for projects across the island - including the Restaurante del Diablo, where food is cooked using subterranean heat. Since his death in 1992 his house, Taro de Tahiche, with its basement rooms built in huge air bubbles, has been open to the public.
